OUR STORY
 

In 1924, Alden Mennonite Church was established on West Main
Street. In 1994, the congregation moved to the larger facility (previously a Christian school) at 923 Two Rod Road. Throughout the years, the church impacted the Alden area faithfully through weekly services and Bible studies, children and teen programs, events, and service projects. In 2017, disunity amidst leadership led to a church split. Although most families trickled away, a resolved remnant refused to stop meeting together. The remaining leadership worked to fill the pulpit, hiring several preachers but failing to find a full time pastor. The body of believers continued to dwindle in numbers to twenty some members, gaining a few more in 2022.

 

Through several years of organizational, financial, and legal struggles, we persevered and found unity and purpose in Jesus Christ. Following the direction of the Holy Spirit and holding to the Word of God, we revised the church's old constitution and reincorporated with the state as Alden Christian Fellowship. In September of 2024, we celebrated the 100 year history of Alden Mennonite Church, hosting a large gathering of friends and family for a time of worship and reflection on all God had done in the past, was doing in the present, and was going to do in the future. A plaqued stone was set outside our building to commemorate this new work on the old foundation. We are pleased to announce the official inauguration of Alden Christian Fellowship that took place on May 4, 2025. A new church sign was unveiled, elders were installed, and members formally committed to be a part of the congregation. 

Alden Christian Fellowship is an independent, Bible-believing, non-denominational church “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20)." You are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings at 9:30 if you are searching for a church family that loves and serves one another and desires to fulfill the Great Commission, sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples here in our community and throughout the world (Matthew 28:19).
