OUR STORY
 

In 1924, Alden Mennonite Church was established on West Main
Street. The congregation
moved to 923 Two Rod Road in 1994. Part of the current facility was formerly a Christian school. Throughout the years, the church impacted the area with church services, Bible studies, youth programs, community events, and service projects. In 2017, dissension amidst leadership led to discord, and the residing pastor stepped down. As a result of the disunity and ensuing lack of direction, families began to trickle away. Many members deserted the congregtaion, but a resolved remnant refused to stop meeting together. The remaining leadership endeavored to fill the pulpit and recruited some part time preachers but failed to locate a full time pastor. In 2022, the body had dwindled to appoximately twenty five members. Through several years of organizational, financial, and legal stress, the surviving believers persisted. They found unity and purpose in the Spirit and worked to revise the church's old constitution to align more accurately with Biblical teaching. After an arduous process, the church was able to reincorporate with the state as Alden Christian Fellowship. In September of 2024, there was a "100 year celebration" in recognition of the church's Mennonite past. A large gathering was hosted, and old friends came together for a time of worship and reflection. To commemorate the new venture that was sprouting from an old foundation, a plaqued stone was placed outside the building. On May 4, 2025, Alden Christian Fellowship was officially inagurated. A new sign was unveiled, three elders were installed, and the members committed themselves to each other and the work ahead. Fundamentally, ​Alden Christian Fellowship was “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20)."
